This is an Oblate Mission for Free Trade Workers and Government workers in Sri Lanka. This mission was initiated as a result of AIT (Asian Institute of Theology-Pastoral Year).
We felt that there are so many young workers in Free Trade and government industries without proper motivation, guidance and management in various sides.
Therefore, young Eugene Zonal Encounter was initiated in 2016 basically from Katunayaka where a lot of Government workers live.
To lead Healthy, Wealthy and Religious life.
Through various encounters, regular visiting and motivational activities we work for workers and for their families.
To carry out the mission being stationed there, a separate plot of land with a small room was given to the 'Young Eugene Zonal Encounter' mission in 2020 in Andiambalama, Katunayaka.
There are good number of ex-seminarians, married couples, doctors counsellors and experienced workers who volunteer in helping the mission with the Oblates.
Fr. Susith Randil Fernando OMI volunteered and took up the mission under the guidance of the Oblate Province of Colombo
Awakening the awareness of the workers to live a dignified life.
To bring them closer to God through various encounters, prayers, sharing, pilgrimages and celebrations.
There are many volunteers who assists the Oblates to make this mission feasible.
